Yamashita ties LPGA scoring record with 23-under 257 at CPKC Women's Open

Miyu Yamashita matched one of professional golf's elite benchmarks at the CPKC Women's Open in Canada. The 25-year-old Japanese player finished at 23-under 257 over 72 holes, tying the LPGA Tour 72-hole scoring record, per BBC Sport. Her nine-shot victory marked a dominant performance at Royal Mayfair. Yamashita headed into Sunday's final round holding a six-shot lead and extended that margin with six birdies in the closing 18 holes. In the final round, she carded four-under 66, closing with an eight-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole. Runner-up Yuri Yoshida finished at 14-under par, while , per BBC Sport. The 257 total ties the mark set by Kim Sei-young at Thornberry Creek in 2018, when that event finished 31 under par. Yamashita also broke the CPKC Women's Open tournament record of 262, which Ko Jin-young set in 2019. Yamashita claimed her fourth LPGA victory in 13 months, according to BBC Sport. She was named LPGA Tour rookie of the year in 2025 after winning her first major at the Women's Open. The Cincinnati victory marks her second win of 2026, following her title at the Meijer Classic in June.
