The 2.6 million average viewership represents a 178 percent increase from ESPN's average regular-season WNBA viewership last year. Previously, a Fever-Chicago Sky matchup on August 8 on ABC averaged 2.6 million viewers, which was the network's most-watched WNBA game of the season before this overtime contest surpassed it in peak viewers.

Industry measurement firm Nielsen reports that 52 percent of the U.S. population expresses interest in women's sports. Minutes of women's sports watched totaled 46 billion in 2025 and 28.3 billion in the first half of 2026, according to reporting in Awful Announcing.
