Inter Milan completes €35m signing of Curtis Jones from Liverpool

Inter Milan signed Curtis Jones from Liverpool for €35m total, according to BBC Sport. The deal comprised €30m upfront plus €5m in add-ons, and Jones signed a contract with Inter running through 2031.

The transfer concludes a negotiation that stretched across the summer window. In June, Inter proposed a verbal offer of €25m, which Liverpool rejected. At that time, Liverpool valued Jones at approximately €35m and had one year remaining on his contract. Liverpool suggested that a package in line with the €30m Inter paid Tottenham for Djed Spence would likely secure a deal. Inter had also approached Liverpool in January with a loan proposal that included a view to a transfer, but Liverpool declined that offer as well.

The 25-year-old midfielder made 228 appearances for Liverpool and was given his debut by Jurgen Klopp in 2019 after joining the club's academy at age nine. Last season, Jones played 49 times across all competitions but made only 18 Premier League starts, per BBC Sport reporting. Liverpool negotiated a 10 percent sell-on clause as part of the agreement.

Jones becomes the third English player to join Inter this summer, following John Stones and Djed Spence. He struggled to secure a regular starting spot in midfield under Liverpool manager Arne Slot, a factor that prompted the club to pursue his sale despite his long tenure at Anfield.
