Gabriel Langton fell off the high bar after missing a grab midway through his routine, according to ESPN's reporting. He landed on his head and neck and received extensive treatment at the arena before being transported on a stretcher in a neck brace.

Team officials said Langton was moving and speaking to doctors during initial treatment. A team spokesperson confirmed he was taken to hospital and stated, "We will share more information when it is available," without providing further detail on the nature or severity of his injuries.

The incident occurred during England's team final. Despite the injury overshadowing the competition, England's men's team secured silver with a final score of 238.20 points, according to ESPN. Canada won gold with 241.400 points, marking the first time England has failed to claim team gold at the Commonwealth Games since the Delhi Games in 2010, per ESPN's reporting. Scotland placed third and Australia completed the podium with 235.650 points.

Langton had replaced Olympic medallist Max Whitlock in the team earlier in the month, assuming a prominent role in the lineup. Luke Whitehouse, 24, followed Langton on the high bar and scored 11.70. The English team also included three-time European champion Whitehouse, Adam Tobin, Alex Yolshin-Cash, and Josh Nathan. Whitehouse posted the top score of the competition on floor, while Yolshin-Cash delivered the best parallel bars routine, per ESPN.

Canada's team was led by Felix Dolci, who scored highest on both vault and high bar, according to ESPN. In individual apparatus qualifying, Northern Ireland's Rhys McClenaghan placed third on pommel, behind Scotland's Reuben Ward and Jordan Carroll of Canada.
