Cardinals OL Adams to report to training camp Wednesday amid four criminal charges in Canada

Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Isaiah Adams, age 25, turned himself in to Durham Regional Police on Sunday and is facing four charges: possessing a weapon by crime, possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without a license, possessing a loaded firearm, and possessing a prohibited device. The charges stem from an investigation by Durham Regional Police's Guns and Gangs Unit in the eastern greater Toronto area. Adams' 27-year-old sister, Allyson Mae Adams, is facing the same four charges, according to ESPN's reporting.

The investigation also involved two other people who were arrested on charges of trafficking fentanyl, with police finding more than three kilograms of the drug in their vehicle. All four people involved were held for a bail hearing. The reporting does not identify Adams as one of the two people charged with fentanyl trafficking.

A source told ESPN that Adams has returned to Arizona and will report to training camp Wednesday. The Cardinals will begin camp Wednesday and hold their first practice Thursday. Adams was a third-round pick for the Cardinals in 2024 out of the University of Illinois. He started 11 games last season, the first five and the final six, and five games as a rookie. He entered this offseason as the incumbent and projected starter. Rookie offensive lineman Chase Bisontis will compete for the right guard job in training camp.

The Cardinals released a statement saying, "We are aware of the situation involving Isaiah Adams. Out of respect for the process, we will refrain from commenting further at this time." The franchise has not clarified whether Adams will participate in practice activities or what disciplinary or eligibility review may be underway. The NFL has not publicly announced an investigation or disciplinary review under its personal conduct policy.
